On April 1st, Nicole and I released a call to all the culinary innovators to create the perfect raw vegan cake pop. We knew it was a tough challenge, but with prizes and pride at stake we thought there would be a few who would heed the call.
But, we never could have anticipated the amazing response that resulted in this awe-inspiring cake pop round-up. By the deadline last night we had received these 12 entries:
Marcy of (Don’t be) Too Timid and Squeamish made Macadamia Cherry Chocolate Cake Popsas part of her 101 things to do in 1001 days.
Bean of Without Adornment made Strawberry Cheesecake Pops(for the challenge and to celebrate her birthday).
Deanna of The Mommy Bowl made German Chocolate Cake Pops
Deanna also made Coconut Chocolate Chip Sort-of-Cake Pops
Sasha of Blyssful Health made Cacao Raspberry Cake Pops
Sasha also made Carrot Cake Pops
Jennifer of The Robertsons of Mumbai made Chocolate Orange Cake Pops
Bitt of Bitt of Raw made Double Chocolate Mesquite Madness Pops
Tressa of Hecka-Good Recipes made Strawberry Shortcake Pops
Marlie of Barefoot and Frolicking made Luverly Vanilla, Cacao Fudge and Mulberry Maven Cake Pops
Nicole and I were completely blown away by the unique flavour combinations, stunning photographs and the relentless determination the entrants showed. The tales of kitchen trials abounded in the entry posts – but it seems everyone learned a lot and created a ton of tasty, while imperfect, cake pops along the way.
Today, Nicole and I spent about 8 hours testing recipes in preparation for a big, cake pop tasting party tomorrow. I have no doubt, Sunday is going to be spectacular.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in the challenge! I now have a huge list of treats to try and new blogs to visit.
